Scarecrow Festival on Tamborine
TAMBORINE MOUNTAIN HAS SOMETHING TO” CROW” ABOUT!!
The 2010 Scarecrow Festival was again a fun filled weekend for the young and young at heart and was a great success!
New dates for 2011 – Fri 24th to Sun 26th of June!
The third Scarecrow Festival on Tamborine Mountain held in June 2010 was again a huge success. Over 200 scarecrows lined the 17 km trail and added some extra sparkle to beautiful Tamborine Mountain.
The festival was again designed to provide lots of fun for everyone, allow Buskers and Art Folk to be creative, offer involvement of the whole community and for everyone to enjoy a chuckle at each others efforts in Scarecrow building.
A variety of great entertainment incl. singers, musicians, dancers and drummers performed in the streets and restaurants in North Tamborine and Gallery Walk over the weekend. This was highlighted with “Australia’s Got Talent” finalists “THE TWINE”, carrying on the party atmosphere for the closing award ceremony.
The “Starlight Foundation” raised $825 with donations from the public. The winners of the Best Traditional Scarecrow, Peter and Robyn Cornell, have donated their Scarecrow to the foundation, and his new home will be the Mater Children’s Hospital in Brisbane.
Mt Tamborine’s scarecrows were again of an amazingly high standard, so get ready for an even better display next year!
