At “Sundowners Restaurant” you will be greeted by the owner Marion O’Brien and chef Tony Whiley themselves!

Marion is back after originally operating Sundowners successfully for 12 years, then leasing it out for 7 years.  During this time Sundowners was known as “Brunelli’s Italian Restaurant”.
Marion, being a long term Tamborine Mountain resident, has brought back her warm and friendly country-style hospitality.  Being surrounded by native bush the restaurant boasts lovely valley views as well as stunning sunsets.

If it’s a romantic experience out you are looking for or small to medium size functions for lunch or dinner – then you can’t go past “Sundowners Restaurant”.  There is inside dining with a log fire or alfresco on the deck, as well as an original railway carriage complete with private bar!

Chef Anthony has joined with owner Marion O’Brien.  Together, they have created simple menus using local produce and top quality sea-food to compliment the warm and friendly atmosphere in the restaurant.

Originally from New Zealand, Tony was raised in the hospitality industry in family owned businesses.  After completing his qualifications and working in Wellington, NZ, he immigrated to Sydney where he has spent the last 15 years working in Mediterranean styled sea-food and fine dining restaurants.  He has worked for well known, high volume restauranteurs such as the “American Express”, Sydney’s finest family restaurant.  He helped them to collect many awards over the years, and to win many local business awards.

Tony specialises in seafood and is used to handle up to 30 varieties each week.  He is also well adapted in all meat and game dishes. “Sundowners Restaurant” menu is a combination of Asian, Western and Mediterranean influences.  On offer is also a great variety of wines that go beautifully well with the fish dishes he presents.

There is bound to be something to entice everyone’s taste-buds.

Open 6 days a week Tuesday through to Sunday for Lunch 12 til 2pm and dinner 6 til 9pm – Also open on Fridays and Saturdays for the popular SUNSET dinners!
