The “TATRA Winery Estate” attracts its visitors with a charming atmosphere and breathtaking hinterland views that stretch for miles.

There is a unique appeal to “TATRA”, that casts its spell on a wide range of Australian and international tourists.  It certainly gives one a sense of being transported to a vineyard in Europe.

On 14 of July 2009, TATRA took another step towards becoming one of the landmarks of Tamborine Mountain – winning the first price in the category “Best Restaurant in a Winery” of the “Restaurant and Catering Queensland Gold Coast Awards for Excellence”, the peak industry organisation.

Already in 2008, TATRA achieved a remarkable result, coming second only to Siromet Winery.  With the new restaurant building now open, TATRA is ideally placed to take out the Queensland state award in September 2009!

The first class service and mouth-watering gourmet meals in the “TATRA Winery Restaurant” have been strongly influenced by the Polish heritage of the owners, with an eclectic array of modern Polish and Russian dishes mixed with Eastern European Slavic cuisine.

To enter the restaurant, the visitor crosses a creek via a beautiful long timber bridge.  A massive “life” waterwheel feeds the creek which runs into a large lake complete with fountain and abundant birdlife.  The restaurant boasts an amazing array of winery collectibles with strong European flair. Food is served on heavy tables and chairs carved from antique timbers, there are eye-catching chandeliers overhead that would be fit for a medieval castle.  Exposed beams with high ceilings and large windows to catch the afternoon sun are matched with a wide veranda stretching over the lake providing additional restaurant seating and an unrivaled ambience for any occasion.

Everything you see, hear and taste at TATRA reflects the owner’s meticulous attention to detail.  A visit to TATRA is one of the “must do” things on Tamborine Mountain – a feast for your eyes – and for your taste buds!
